About My DTM Part2 - Vocal Editor

Continuing from last week's DAW, this time we will talk about voice synthesis software that is essential for Vocaloid P activities.

YAMAHA's VOCALOID is well-known to the general public, but there are new voice synthesis software from other companies that use AI technology to create more realistic human singing voices.

This time, I will tell you about the features and ease of use of CeVIO AI and Synthesizer V, which I am currently using as my main.

I haven't bought 6, the latest version of VOCALOID, so no comment.

First, CeVIO AI.

CeVIO itself had its predecessor CeVIO Creative Studio about 10 years ago, and it was converted to AI about 3 years ago.

Yuzuki Yukari, IA, and other girls who used to sing with VOCALOID.

One of the major features of CeVIO or AI voice synthesis is that it sings naturally, even if it's not toned, so even if you don't have any special tonal skills, you can sing wonderful songs as long as you have a good sense of songwriting. can be made.

The downsides are that there is no Mac version, and because it's AI, it's difficult to achieve a singing voice that's out of the way people sing.

It feels like a child who is good at intense songs like rock or metal is not good at whispering ballads.

Still, it's a big advantage that you can save a lot of time and effort for toning, and in the genre you're good at, you can sing so well that you can't even be an amateur.

There are many voice bank options, each with different singing characteristics, so it's a good idea to choose the one that best suits the song you want to create.

Well, the best thing is to pick up your favorite child!

DLSite frequently holds sales and distributes coupons, so if you want to collect them, you should aim for them.

There is a song voice alone and a starter pack with an editor included, and you need to buy an editor license with the starter pack only at the beginning.

The price is a little over 20,000 at the regular price, and about 15,000 to 16,000 with sales and coupons.

Synthesizer V.

This also came out about three years ago, and is characterized by the ability to easily generate natural singing voices with AI, just like CeVIO AI.

Recently, the song voice of the famous double sound Teto appeared on UTAU, and I think it has greatly increased its popularity.

The SynthV version of CeVIO's popular Kafu is coming out this winter, so I can feel the momentum.

It's called a retake function, and it's a very convenient function that you can correct by handwriting the pitch curve of the parts you care about... and you can just click the button until you get the expression you like without doing such troublesome things. .

Furthermore, by adding a parameter panel, it is possible to fine-tune manually like Vocaloid.

CeVIO can also be manipulated to some extent, but I have the impression that SynthV can do more.

It's also compatible with Mac, but the only drawback is that it's an expert specification that there is no official manual for some reason.

Since there is an unofficial wiki, I think it will be difficult to use it unless you are someone who can research and refine your skills on your own.

Well, even if it's solid, it's enough to sing well.

The Basic version of SynthV has the great advantage that you can install it for free, and although there are various limitations such as the inability to finely articulate, I think it would be a good idea to try it out first and then buy the Pro version if you like it.

You can also download the free lite version of the voice from the AHS site, so there is no cost to try it out.

Of course, the editor Pro version + voice product version will greatly improve the quality, so if you are serious about music activities, you should definitely buy it.

There is a starter pack that comes with a license for one song voice, and I think the cheapest way to start is to buy it.

At the moment, the Amazon package version is cheaper than the official shop, and you can buy it for a little over 15,000 yen.

However, the Pro version comes with an excellent song voice called MAI, so if you don't have a child you want to welcome, it would be nice to try making a song with her.
