About My DTM Part2 - Vocal Editor

Continuing from last week's DAW, this time we will talk about voice synthesis software that is essential for Vocaloid P activities.

YAMAHA's VOCALOID is well-known to the general public, but there are new voice synthesis software from other companies that use AI technology to create more realistic human singing voices.

This time, I will tell you about the features and ease of use of CeVIO AI and Synthesizer V, which I am currently using as my main.

I haven't bought 6, the latest version of VOCALOID, so no comment.

First, CeVIO AI.

CeVIO itself had its predecessor CeVIO Creative Studio about 10 years ago, and it was converted to AI about 3 years ago.

Yuzuki Yukari, IA, and other girls who used to sing with VOCALOID.

One of the major features of CeVIO or AI voice synthesis is that it sings naturally, even if it's not toned, so even if you don't have any special tonal skills, you can sing wonderful songs as long as you have a good sense of songwriting. can be made.

The downsides are that there is no Mac version, and because it's AI, it's difficult to achieve a singing voice that's out of the way people sing.

It feels like a child who is good at intense songs like rock or metal is not good at whispering ballads.

Still, it's a big advantage that you can save a lot of time and effort for toning, and in the genre you're good at, you can sing so well that you can't even be an amateur.

There are many voice bank options, each with different singing characteristics, so it's a good idea to choose the one that best suits the song you want to create.

Well, the best thing is to pick up your favorite child!

DLSite frequently holds sales and distributes coupons, so if you want to collect them, you should aim for them.

There is a song voice alone and a starter pack with an editor included, and you need to buy an editor license with the starter pack only at the beginning.

The price is a little over 20,000 at the regular price, and about 15,000 to 16,000 with sales and coupons.

Synthesizer V.

This also came out about three years ago, and is characterized by the ability to easily generate natural singing voices with AI, just like CeVIO AI.

Recently, the song voice of the famous double sound Teto appeared on UTAU, and I think it has greatly increased its popularity.

The SynthV version of CeVIO's popular Kafu is coming out this winter, so I can feel the momentum.

It's called a retake function, and it's a very convenient function that you can correct by handwriting the pitch curve of the parts you care about... and you can just click the button until you get the expression you like without doing such troublesome things. .

Furthermore, by adding a parameter panel, it is possible to fine-tune manually like Vocaloid.

CeVIO can also be manipulated to some extent, but I have the impression that SynthV can do more.

It's also compatible with Mac, but the only drawback is that it's an expert specification that there is no official manual for some reason.

Since there is an unofficial wiki, I think it will be difficult to use it unless you are someone who can research and refine your skills on your own.

Well, even if it's solid, it's enough to sing well.

The Basic version of SynthV has the great advantage that you can install it for free, and although there are various limitations such as the inability to finely articulate, I think it would be a good idea to try it out first and then buy the Pro version if you like it.

You can also download the free lite version of the voice from the AHS site, so there is no cost to try it out.

Of course, the editor Pro version + voice product version will greatly improve the quality, so if you are serious about music activities, you should definitely buy it.

There is a starter pack that comes with a license for one song voice, and I think the cheapest way to start is to buy it.

At the moment, the Amazon package version is cheaper than the official shop, and you can buy it for a little over 15,000 yen.

However, the Pro version comes with an excellent song voice called MAI, so if you don't have a child you want to welcome, it would be nice to try making a song with her.

About My DTM Part1 - DAW

I don't want to write all the complaints about real life, so today I'm going to talk about creation like a creator.

I am currently active mainly on Nico Nico Douga and Twitter as a Vocaloid P.

I thought I'd write about how to get started with Vocaloid P activities, but people with more names and achievements than me have put together an easy-to-understand summary, so if you're interested, please google "How to start Vocaloid P".

Here, I will write about my production environment and how to make songs.

I'm mostly self-taught about music, so I don't know how efficient it is.

Today we will talk about the DAW that is essential for Vocaloid P activities.

A DAW is basically music composition software.

It's packed with features that allow you to place notes on a sheet of music to create a musical score and create a song, or mix sounds recorded using a microphone to create a song.

Various software makers in various countries have released various DAWs, but here I will write about the DAW I use.

I use a DAW called FL Studio developed by a Belgian company called Image Line.

*Using Reaper after November 2023

The main reason I bought it was financial.

The Producer grade, which can use almost all functions, costs a little over 20,000 yen, and is free of charge for many years.

With other DAWs, you have to buy an upgraded version every time a new version comes out, so it's very kind to the pocket of the poor.

It's also lighter, simpler, and doesn't fall off too much.

Cubase and DAWs made by other companies often have a one-month trial period in their trial version, but the trial version of FL only has a restriction that the exported save data cannot be reloaded, and there is no specific deadline, so you can buy it whenever you want to try it.

I don't like being rushed, so this kind of looseness was also a high point.

As it is said to be for EDM, it does not come with a comprehensive orchestral sound source such as Cubase or Studio One, but it is not necessary for making pop or dance music.

If you need it, you can just add a third-party sound source, so it's better to keep the initial cost low.

That's why the synth has a pretty high-performance guy from the beginning.

For example, this synth called Sytrus comes with the Producer grade and above, and includes about 500 types of sounds including the additional presets that the official distributes for free, so you can make songs with just this synth, and there is also a demo song actually made with Sytrus alone.

For the first half of the year, I composed mainly this song.

I still use it from time to time.

Also, this can be said for other DAWs, but it was also good that there were many demo songs with a high degree of perfection.

If you have data created by a professional, you can figure out how to use a DAW to finish the song, and it's much easier and more reliable than looking at the manual.

There is also a Hatsune Miku song.

Speaking of clear disadvantages of FL, I can only think of the fact that it can not be translated into Japanese at the moment.

If you're not good at English and don't plan to study it in the future, Studio One might be better.

However, if you can read English in DTM, you can buy sound sources cheaply on overseas sites, and there are many plug-ins that do not have a Japanese UI, so I think it will be useful in various ways.

The Life of Shachi-Creator

Hello. I'm Enin.

I don't have anything to write about on my blog, so I'd like to rehabilitate my writing by mentioning my daily life, which I don't often tweet on Twitter.

I don't know if there is a demand for it, but since the main focus of this site is the work, please think of it as a bonus.

Recently, my daily life is just going back and forth between home and work, and I'm sure that if I stop creating, I'll probably suffer from mental illness.

It's a company with strong mental pressure, so my co-workers break down and stop coming to the company, or they leave the company without realizing it.

I've already quit more than half of my sync.

Does it make sense to stay in a job like that?

Shouldn't you be looking for a new job?

There was a time when I thought so, but in my 20s I was a part-time freelancer and immersed myself in creation and games, and in my 30s I wandered around the world on a bicycle. (Laughs), I think that the job you can find is also a shitty nose.

I'm completely self-sufficient, but I can be unemployed anytime without being tied down by a career, and I can create while wandering around the world, so it's actually quite comfortable.

It may be close to the so-called invincible person.

My current workplace is at least better than the welfare industry I was in before, and the work is relatively easy, except for mental work.

There's no dangerous work that could kill you if you don't do it right, and there's no risk of getting a criminal record for killing someone.

All you have to do is fidget with your computer in an air-conditioned office.

I don't get beaten with a cane by a dumb old hag, and I don't get hugged by poop-covered hands lol.

I think it's a reasonable destination for a person who did whatever he wanted when he was young.

Luckily, I've only become stronger mentally in my previous job, so while everyone around me is leaving, I'm going to stick out my tongue and stick out my tongue, saying, "It's okay if I can earn money, but labor is equally shit."

I'm a scumbag as a member of society, but I'm a creator before I'm a member of society.

In order to return to the original way of life, I think that it is realistic and the best option to spend the winter here until the funds for the next trip are saved.

If you change jobs, your savings will decrease.

I feel nothing but a sense of incongruity in my life as a freelancer in Japan, and all I can think about is how quickly I can escape from prison.

No, I'm only thinking about creation lol.

Oh, and the okonomiyaki I go to eat once in a while is so delicious that I could die.

This alone makes me glad that I came to Hiroshima.

I'm here

Hello. My name is Ein Fujimi.

We have added a new blog to our website.

I've been using Twitter as a blog for a long time, but due to some personal reasons, I've decided to use my own site to post updates and work progress.

Also, on the information page of this site, I have pasted links to my current posting site account and active SNS account, so if you are interested in Eito Fujimi's activities in the future, please visit. It would be an unexpected pleasure if you could.

Regarding the future of Twitter, as long as the service continues, I will keep the account, and I may go to take a look once in a while.

However, it's annoying to have to switch platforms every time SNS is closed, and I don't have time to do that because I have more work hours these days.

I don't want my activity records to disappear, so from now on, I will use a self-made blog system that allows me to control everything myself.

In addition, this blog system is published on Github as open source PHP freeware.

If you are interested, please look for a link called "My Micro Blog" from the application page of this homepage.

You can use it freely without any particular notice, but if you find a bug, you will be too busy to support it, so please study PHP and Javascript and do something yourself.

what i'm doing now

I make songs with AI singing voice generation software called Synthesizer V (it's like the AI version of Vocaloid), Kyomachi Seika.

It will be published in the near future.

I will post at the posting festival called Seikafesu held on Nico Nico Douga.

Look forward to it ~.
