How to make a movie

This is a bit of a departure from DTM, but let's talk about video production.

If you are using a medium like Sound Cloud, you can post your musical work as long as you have a cover art, but if you want to publish it on YouTube, Nico Nico Douga, or Twitter (X), you will also need to create a video.

There are some who like to use only lyrics on a single color background, but I think it's easier to increase the number of views if there are beautiful illustrations of beautiful girls and flashy videos that make full use of 3DCG.

It's only natural that you want as many people as possible to listen to the songs you're proud of.

At least I can't wait to let people around me hear it.

In particular, Nico Nico Douga has been popular for posting Vocaloid songs ever since Hatsune Miku started appearing, and even now, Vocaloid song submission festivals are held regularly, and there are also enthusiastic fans who are so-called full-song listeners. I think it's still the best place for P to increase the number of listeners.

Note that the Vocaloid songs mentioned here are not limited to VOCALOID, but also include songs using voice synthesis software such as SynthV and CeVIO.

I don't think there's a term that can refer to songs made using speech synthesis software in general.

I wonder if there's anything better to say?

Personally, I think a simple virtual singer would be fine, but I think it would be confused with Proseca's Krypton character.

Quiet talk.

Today I'd like to introduce the software that I mainly use when making music videos.

Filmora (Wondershare)

Even a one-time license costs less than 10,000 yen (as of September 16, 2023) Video editing software with excellent cost performance.

There are some materials that you can't use unless you subscribe to a paid subscription plan (about 2,000 yen a month), but I get the impression that you can use the free version quite a bit.

The operation screen looks like this.

There are quite a variety of effects for character display.

Still image materials can be easily placed and moved.

I don't even have to read any manuals, and I can easily make something like the okonomiyaki video I made the other day, just by googling it occasionally.

For corporate creators who are overwhelmed with overtime, it is important that the learning cost is low and that you can use it intuitively without even looking at the manual.

Charamin (AHS)

Cheat software that allows you to easily create dancing videos using 3D models.

I use it often because it goes particularly well with bright POPS and dance music.

When you load MP3 data, it automatically analyzes the tempo of the song and performs the choreography.

However, most of the time it ends up being a strange dance, so I think I need to reassemble it myself.

However, you don't have to move bones to create motions from scratch; you just arrange short motions prepared in advance to match the beat.

For lip syncing, just input the lyrics and it will move like that.

The camera work can be tweaked quite a bit.

You can also create a single color background or a transparent background and combine it with another background using video editing software.

It is possible to load MMD models, but it is not fully compatible and sometimes crashes while loading, or the textures peel off and become completely white.

As for the texture peeling, this is just my guess, but it seems like it can be avoided by converting it to a smaller-sized PNG data.

At least the official Natsuiro Karin model was able to do this.

The original data was in TGA format, which is quite large.

Convert the texture image to PNG using Crysta or GIMP, and then update the texture information using PMX editor. only this.

Well, there are some models that prohibit modification according to the terms and conditions, and may not allow use on platforms other than MMD in the first place, so be careful about that.

You can also convert the model prepared by VROID to PMX using a conversion tool prepared by volunteers and make it dance.

There is a tool called VRM2PmxConverter, but it is an unofficial method, so use it at your own risk.

However, there are many cases where the converted PMX file ends up with a strange hair color.

I'm dealing with it by forcibly filling in the color of the material, but if it's a fundamental solution, I might have to tinker with something like Blender.

Also, it is currently not possible to make multiple models dance at the same time.

Well, it seems like there's nothing you can't do if you make it a transparent background and compose it with video editing software, but it would be nice if you could make it possible for multiple people to dance on the Charamin side, even if they use the same motion. As the number of users increases, new functions will be added. I'm writing promotional articles to increase the number of Charamin users out of an ulterior motive such as maybe a new version will be released lol.

I would be happy if they added motions and stages.

Thank you very much, AHS!

Well, it makes up for these shortcomings by allowing you to create dancing videos so quickly that you'll wonder if it's that easy, so it's highly recommended for DTMers who are struggling with MV production.

Well then, have a good DTM life!
